Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our website. Our expectation is that your child will have a wonderful time at the school and we trust that our partnership with parents will be a significant part of this. Our website is designed to give you some basic information about the school and introduce ourselves to you. I hope you find it helpful.

Being a father of two girls, I am very much aware of the responsibility that my staff and I have in ensuring the highest standard of teaching and learning is evident in all areas.

Our aim is to help students and their families achieve ambitious goals enabling them to live life to the full. We accept and celebrate our unique identities and respect and value each other for who we are and what we can achieve as individuals and as a community. All staff members, regardless of role, see themselves and the duties they undertake in relation to securing positive outcomes for all students. This is to ensure we are able to meet the needs of all our pupils to achieve their full potential in their academic, spiritual, moral, creative, personal, and physical development.

I know how vital working in partnership with parents really is, in order for children to find school a positive and rewarding experience. We strongly believe achievement and enjoyment go hand in hand to ensure each child’s excellent progress. We hope you will support our high expectations in all areas, especially in behaviour and achievement.

Within the context of our cultural and religious belief and practice, our school has developed a set of core values which will continue to underpin all the work we do. These values will have a huge impact as our child develops. They help to deepen our child’s positive values and in doing so, help them consider the implications of their choices in relation to themselves, the communities of which they are part of and the wider world.

Boarding, however, has a unique capacity to shape the lives of young people. Full, weekly boarding is provided and plays a significant role within the life of the school. We encourage all Marathon students to be self-confident, positive, healthy and inquiring young men acquiring the qualities of tolerance and respectfulness embodied through a modesty of manner.

Above all, we seek to give our boys the tools to be the inspirational leaders of tomorrow as they embark on careers of distinction, influence and service.

Our website is a rich interactive resource which I trust you will find useful. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries, concerns or there is anything I can do to help and support you with your child’s learning and school life.

I would like to thank you personally for your continued commitment and support towards the staff and pupils of this school.
